Description

MDF Film Water-resistant is provided with a lacquer-carrying film that eliminates the need to prime the material. So it is very suitable for making furniture for indoor use in humid areas that you want to lacquer. The sheet consists of wood fibres compressed under high pressure, and a special, water-resistant adhesive has been used for MDF Film V313. This makes the material easy to machine and it does not splinter.

Then choose one of the available (edge) finishes.

MDF film Water-resistant: what is it?

MDF Film Water-resistant is provided on both sides with a lacquer-carrying film that eliminates the need to prime the material, which means you can get started with the desired colour of paint or varnish right away. Because of the film, the absorbent effect of the material is greatly reduced. The film is applied to both sides, virtually eliminating the risk of the material warping.

The homogeneous structure makes MDF less sensitive to shrinkage and expansion at varying temperatures compared to other sheet materials. MDF film Water-resistant can be used in humid areas, but this type of wood is not suitable for outdoor applications.

An MDF sheet is composed of dried wood fibres and glue. With MDF Film Water-resistant, a special, moisture-resistant glue type has been used. These wood fibres are then pressed together under high pressure and temperatures to form an MDF sheet.

MDF film is a structural sheet. This means that this sheet material still needs the necessary finishing before it can be used for visual applications. MDF film is not suitable for applications in humid rooms or outdoors.

Available thicknesses of MDF film Water-resistant

MDF can be ordered in different thicknesses. You can easily specify your desired thickness during the ordering process. This way you can be sure that the sheet material meets your requirements: both the size and thickness of the material. The following thicknesses are available: 12 mm and 18 mm.

Machining MDF film Water-resistant sheets

MDF is very easy to work with when milling and sawing, the material does not splinter. MDF film Water-resistant is provided with a lacquer-carrying film, which means that priming is no longer necessary. You can start varnishing the material right away. The sheet edges require some extra attention. To counteract the absorbent effect of the sheet edges, there are several possibilities: use diluted wood glue with some water, putty or a special edge sealer.

Specific applications of MDF film Water-resistant

MDF is the material of choice for furniture and interior applications. It is one of the most popular types of wooden sheets. This is because it is very easy to process and also affordable. MDF film Water-resistant is available for many applications and easy to finish as well. Think of furniture, a (partition) wall or a housing. Because of its moisture-resistant properties, it is also possible to make furniture for humid areas, such as bathroom furniture or a kitchen.
