Description of Job

We wanted to get rid of an ugly radiator, so I made a custom radiator casing of 18 mm MDF with slots for heat transmission. The planks are mitred so that the end edge of the plank is not visible. Construction made with 27x27mm lumber. Head piece made in double miter (in my case the left side was open close to a wall, better heat transmission) and primed twice and then lacquered twice in the same color as the wall.

How I made this project

(1) Order the MDF 18mm online via the working drawing below (note, if you want to close 2 ends, you will need a 3 to 5 more often and a miter on the other side).
(2) construct the 27x27 construction with lumber
(3) mark the alignment on lumber with a pencil (I use a spacer, nail head)
(4) secure the front and top of the plank with tape , use a countersink drill to countersink the screw hole, secure
(5) secure the end edge in the same way
(6) prime twice
(7) topcoat twice
