We wanted to turn our beautiful IKEA bed into a family bed. 240.0 cm wide instead of 160.0 cm wide. After a long search for suitable panel material (beech panel), I came across the inexpensive website of TOSIZE.co.uk. Here you only pay for the dimensions you buy. Ideal for a job like this. The order was done in no time. After ordering, I discovered that I had entered the wrong size. Fortunately, we were able to solve this quickly via Whatsapp before the order went to production.

Work description: how did you realize your project

• Simply copied the measurements from the original bed shelf (horizontal shelf).
• With a hinge drill holes sawn for the mounting material.
• Holes drilled 10mm for dowels. Then attach the shelf in the original way.
• The wood treated with Osmo hardwax.

I had already bought the extra slatted bases and carrier from IKEA. After mounting the mattresses in it and now we can all sleep comfortably in one bed. The total costs for material were about 130 euros.
