We made our basic Besta Ikea TV cabinet a bit more fun with the pine plank from TOSIZE.cz. By making the plank longer than the TV cabinet, we created a kind of desk where our daughter can play and draw. All that was needed for this was sanding and staining the plank in the desired color, then we secured the plank to the wall with reinforcement angles and with screws in the TV cabinet.

How I made this project

We made the plank longer than the TV cabinet, which creates a kind of desk where our daughter can play and draw. Our TV cabinet is 180 cm wide and we opted for a plank of 3 meters, which creates a desk of 120 cm. All that was needed for this was sanding and staining the plank in the desired color, then we secured the plank to the wall with reinforcement angles and with screws in the TV cabinet. Because the plank had already been sawn to size, we did not have to do anything else.

Dimensions of my DIY project

Our TV cabinet is 180 cm wide, and the shelf we put on it is 300 cm wide, so the total width is also 300 cm, but you can decide for yourself what suits your situation.
